I have this weird habit....when I am talking to people, at times, my mind is involved in a different conversation altogether. Hence, I come up with pieces of info and facts that very few or nobody cares about. Hmmm some waste of talent, I say! Anyway, in the previous post I mentioned some of the weird and not so weird suggestions I received from people. I have a history of doing research about everything....you know somebody who would Google 'Google'. I came across some more treatments and home remedies and I was game for anything so, I went on to try as many as I could.

My Acne Story: Things I've Learnt Along The Way
I don't remember 'when' acne started but I do remember how it just wouldn't go away. Initially, there just zits on my forehead then those just shifted to various locations on my face. It has been about a decade, I think and I have finally found something which works!
Since, this has been a very long journey, I will try to cover everything I remember but it is not going to be very organized. Also, I am no doctor but an engineer who liked biology and who has done extensive research on why her acne won't go away!

Lotus Herbals Papayablem Papaya-N-Saffron Anti-Blemish Crème
I have met few lucky people who have occasional breakouts and those zits don’t even leave any marks behind. I envy them. My skin ensures you can notice the current breakouts as well as the proof of old ones. I am huge fan of Lotus so when I saw this crème, I decided to give it a shot. I bought it and then I forgot all about it. I excavated it again in July and have been trying to use it religiously ever since.
The crème has a saffron and papaya mixed kind of smell which
is not very strong and doesn’t linger on for a long time.
What it claims:
The unique blend of papaya, saffron, almond and apricot not
only clears blemishes, spots, scars from the face but also makes the complexion
fair. Imparts a smooth and spotless glow to the face. There is a two week claim
on the label and it is suitable for all skin types.
Directions for use:
Cleanse face with lemonpure cleanser. Apply in dots. Gently
massage in upward direction. Can be used at any time of the day. For best
result, use it at night.
Ingredients: See the pic above.
What it did:
I don’t use the
lemonpure cleanser; I just wash my face with Sebamed’s cleansing bar and then
apply this crème. The crème had a little oily feel to it so I decided it would
be best to use it at night. It took more than two weeks in my case, for me to
see some positive effects. My face looks a lot clear in the morning, the scars
are still there but to be fair, they have been there for a long time so it will
be a long battle. I used a little more quantity than required in order to speed
up the process, but nothing drastic happened so now, I try not to smother my
face with it! It is very effective in case of tanning due to sun exposure.
Price: It was Rs. 260 when I bought it but now
it is Rs. 285 for 50gm (Don't be fooled by the tub's size, it has a false bottom and carries only 50ml)
Update: They have changed the packaging, now the 50ml tub looks like a 50 ml tub!
Update: They have changed the packaging, now the 50ml tub looks like a 50 ml tub!
Pros:
- Suitable for all skin types.
- If you have minor blemish or scar problem, you will get result soon.
- Effective from tanning as well.
- I like their seal cap with a small extension to pull it up.
- The quantity will last you for a long time. I have been using it for two months and I have only made a small dent.
Cons:
- Take care to not apply it around the eye area; it has clove oil which makes you feel uncomfortable.
- It’s a jar so you end up putting your fingers inside it again and again. I try and avoid it by taking more than I need.
- Price can be a factor for some.
