Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola - Review

I am back to my old ways, which basically means movies over the weekend regardless of which movie is it!
There has not been any hyped release for past few weeks although, I was very surprised by Table No.21. The movie actually had a script and a good one at that! Table No. 21 is the only movie I have seen after reading reviews that didn't make me want to murder the review-er.

Coming back to Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, the movie is a rustic comedy but if you find it comic depends solely on 'what' you find funny.

Student of the Year - Review

I saw the movie last weekend but because I was editing video as well as editing, re-editing and re-re-editing some html (it's called a job, I am told), I got no time to share my very precious views!( Those who just choked...well, you deserved it! )

Anyway, SOTY is a movie by Karan Johar and I just went to see Siddharth Malhotra because he is so-damn-hot.I went for the morning show because that's the most I can spend on something like SOTY, 

The Bourne Legacy - The Movie Review

So, umm, well, I don't really remember why I agreed to see this movie in the first place but I did.  I have this theory about how if you start writing a trilogy, you should alwaysssssss stop at book number 3. Always. The same goes for the book which inspired this movie.

If you have read or seen anything from the Bourne series previously, this movie won't make your world rock!    
There is no Matt Damon(yes, I like him) but Edward Norton (who looks very old in the movie, and when I said that, I got but "dude, he really is old" in response :|  ) and there is that fellow from The Avengers who dresses in black and goes around with bows and arrows ( I always forget his name!).


The first half was a bit too slow and the second half was like whoooooooooooosh! and The End. This was again a movie which had a abrupt kind of ending, as if the producers also realised  that putting more money into the movie would be ridiculous.

Also, if you are going to see the movie, please read the plot summary on Wikipedia so the movie actually makes some sense. We spent a lot of time gaping at screen, waiting for all of it (or any of it) to make sense.


Why did I go? That too on a weekend? Oh! Because roomie said it  has a good rating on IMDb. I seriously need to get an account on IMDb and save people from trauma!Hmm...one day!


P.S- I am not saying the movie was bad.....I am just saying there were better uses of both my time and money(actually, I didn't pay for my ticket but that's a negligible detail!).

Madagascar 3, Arjun The Warrior Prince and The Avengers as an After-thought!

Awesome, Awesome movie! I saw it twice, no, wait! scratch that!  I paid to see it twice which is quite a big deal, you know. Loved the 3D effect and everyone who kept saying, " Oh! but it is an animated movie, it is supposed to have good 3D..." had to eat their words.

I am no fan of Katy Perry and that video of Fireworks in which there are crackers coming out of everyone looks more like they are on fire but I love the song and the second time I went, I was subjected to the

It was a really funny movie. I laughed about how I actually paid to see it, you know? Anyway, most of the movie will come across as a string of random scenes and it all starts making sense in the last 20 minutes or so of the movie. I am a sucker for Rom-Coms however, it fails miserably in the com department. I like how the new movies are much closer to reality than ever before (Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and now this). 

Jodi Breakers, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya And Others - Movie Review

I saw both the movies last weekend when they released. This is meant to help you out choosing the lesser of two evils;)


Jodi Breakers(2012):

The movie starts with our dear Madhavan talking about how he's been left without a house, his car and his watch, among other things to get back his beloved freedom.Well, he just got divorced. The story is about his meeting up with  Bipasha and making a business out of getting people a hassle free divorce and his eventually messing up before realising he loves Bipasha.

While buying the ticket, I commented  200 bucks to watch this, beat that! The guy at the counter said , it is good. After the movie, I felt like calling that guy names. So, much for sadistic pleasure! Movie has Madhavan acting like a dude except he doesn't look the part....at all! The beard was supposed to cover the double chin but instead it was sort of acting like an arrow pointing towards the double chin. (I used to like him back in his serial/RHTDM days). The movie was kind of funny in places. Also, with the exception of movies like Dhamaal, I've realised, I can sit through anything!

There is Milind Soman looking his usual hot self but the tan looked fake in a lottt of places and there's Dipannita Sharma looking at places like a yesteryear actress specially with those hair-dos. I liked them!

Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya (2012):

The first half of the movie was somehow managed just so that they could get to the second part. The movie starts with Riteish Deshmukh working as an auto-rickshaw driver and how he dreams of owning a travel agency and Genelia trying to tell punjabi mundas how it is Can-ada and not Kan-nedda. You can read rest of the plot at Wikipedia. The movie is more about Genelia than Riteish and there were people laughing around me which made me wonder if they find the movie funny or the situation that they had actually paid to watch this funny. Hmm.Maybe they were determined to laugh now they'd paid for the tickets and for pop corn and soda as well.


I cannot make fun of this movie because I don't really remember much.However, the kurtas that Riteish wore while driving an auto are the ones that truck driver wear.The stylist never used an auto, it seems.
There weren't really a lot of clothes to see since, Genelia dressed up as a gaon ki chorri in later part of the movie!


Rating:2.1/5( I have been told I am saying Tere naal is better than Jodi Breakers just because I paid for the ticket, which is not the case!)




Some movies worth watching:

• Money Ball Based on real life story about base ball. I don't play and I am definitely not a fan but yes, I do know what a base is,what strikes are, what's a pitch, etc. I still liked it and Brad Pitt did not look like an eye candy but it was still a good movie.
•  Ghost Rider 3D You don't need to know what happened in the Ghost Rider movie made before this. This one  is 3D and quite fun. You'll like it more if you like comics.Go marvel!
• Safe House Spy thriller which you'll like if you're a sucker for CIA,MI6 dramas(I love them!) Also, Ryan Reynold's good looks help but most of the movie has been splattered with blood so you won't see his face often! 

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu - The Movie & What I actually Saw

After the tremendous response (talk about modesty?) on my last post about a movie, I thought I'd write another one and maybe save you some money?

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is surprisingly  more about Imran than about  Kareena.When you're watching the  2 hour long  movie, you'll be struck by the thought, OMG! I have seen it somewhere, which you obviously have, Darling!

Players - The Movie And Sonam Kapoor

Does this mean I will be reviewing movies as well? Oh! I don't know. But after wasting/spending money and time that could have been much much better used shopping. The movie is official remake of the English movie The Italian Job and because I had not seen the Wiki page, I actually *spent* energy in recognizing it(To be precise, a friend of mine did but I was the one saying it's an English movie's copy, it's definitely picked up but I cannot place it.)
I spent the first half brushing my hair (no kidding!) I just felt that was the better use of my time apart from eating a large popcorn and drinking coffee( I just don't understand why they don't have a large coffee as well). I also noticed what Sonam Kapoor was wearing in the movie, since the first part had just that, silly songs and Sonam Kapoor wearing designer clother and some acting but I cannot quite place who was acting in the first part:P Also, the movie is full of what-the-fuckery (excuse the language but there is just no better way of putting it).
