Your System Runs Slowly?Keeping Your Computer Clean Helps.

Have you noticed that your computer(laptop/desktop) is not running as fast as it did when it was new? Does it hang a lot? When you open too many windows, does the screen go all white?Does it take a lot of time for a game to load or a web page to load? If you answered yes for any or all of these questions, there as some things you can do to solve the problem at home and yourself.

There are various reasons because of which the aforementioned situations might arise. It can be because of some malware( malicious software which disrupt the normal functioning of your computer), virus  or simply because you don't clean up the junk in the computer!

Here are a few ways to keep your computer running smoothly:

Start>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>Disk Cleanup>>Select the drive you want to clean

Usually, the OS is stored in 'C', so select the disk which has the OS stored first and click Ok. A list will appear with options like Temporary Flies, Downloaded Program Files,Recycle Bin, etc. There will be a check-box in front of all the options.Check the boxes you want clean( I check all the boxes but if you want to save some data you can pick the options you want). Click Ok.

Repeat this process at least twice a week.(I do it almost every other day).

Another tool that I like is Piriform's CCleaner. You can download it from Piriform's link(free version) or download the Home edition or Business edition(Paid).

In this screen shot, there are two tabs, Windows and Application. For a routine cleaning purpose, check the boxes in the windows list that you want to clean up except the last one i.e. Wipe Free Space.(You can also choose all of the list but don't use the last Wipe Free Space unless you're sure of what you're doing. Now, Click on Analyse.

Screen Shot

Clicking on Analyze,  will show you the details of what can be removed. Like this,

When you're sure you want to clean up, Click on Run Cleaner. This will clean up your caches, temporary files, recycle bin, download history, etc.

This cleaning up will clean up the cache and useless data which will make your system run faster.

CCleaner can also be used to Clean Up the Registry and Unistall Software Programs. Uninstalling software programs works just like it does in Add/Remove Program by Windows. Don't clean up the registry unless you are sure of what you're doing.

 * If you're having trouble only with loading games like farmville, petville, etc, these are flash games(they require adobe flash player) or some other sites which have a flash introduction, the problem may be caused by a smaller sized RAM.The problem can be solved by installing a larger RAM.

How to find out the size of your RAM?

Start>>My Computers>>Right-Click (anywhere in the My Computer window)>> Left Click On Properties>> Select the "General" tab.

In the General tab, you will find the details about the processor, RAM, processing speed, etc.

Hope this helps!
